How It Works:

Respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) is a naturally occurring variation in heart rate that occurs during a breathing cycle. The PERP-BaPY uses induced conscious RSA in a controlled manner to attain relaxation and peace. Thus the slower and deeper  abdominal breathing encourages full oxygen exchange  with additional beneficial trade of incoming oxygen for outgoing carbon dioxide. All the steps 1 to 12 in the section in the ‘Procedure’ make use of Respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) which is a naturally occurring variation in heart rate that occurs during a breathing cycle. We recommend deep abdominal breathing as described above. Our invention PERP-BaPY for the first time is yoking the breathing with pulse counting in the four sites mentioned and this procedure as described in steps 1 to 12 brings the person to experience relaxation and peace. Hence counting of the pulse during breathing in and breathing out in a measured manner may bring about relaxation and peace.

The Technique is called BaPY, is an acronym for “Breathing and Pulse Yoked”.  PERP-BaBY is a non-instrumental Human Biofeedback technique.  The PERP-BaPY program is designed to help relax, slow the heart rate and lower the blood pressure of the participant which could help to empower the person to make continuous choices: choosing the pleasant and positive, thinking, feeling, speaking, living- life style versus the negative, harmful, hurtful thinking, feeling, speaking, living- life style (a life style of stress and anxiety). That helps to empower a person to make continuous choices; choosing the pleasant and positive thinking, feeling, living, and speaking life style versus the negative, harmful, hurtful thinking, feeling, speaking, living-life style.

This PERP-BaPY program can be done as needed even in a very public place, unnoticed and no one will be aware that you are bringing yourself into a more relaxed, calm,  alert, focused and temperate state of mind.  The inventors consider that it is for the first time, such a process is described in human history, that of a person yoking the pulse and breathing together on oneself.
